Fernwood Ladies Choir was set up in 2024 by Musical Director, and well-seasoned choir master, Kev Jackson to get local ladies into musical shape! As a community choir, there are no entry requirements - just an opportunity for ladies who love to sing to come together and find their voice. We welcome ladies (18+) of all ages and musical abilities.
Fernwood Ladies Choir is going from strength to strength. New members are always welcome, we guarantee a warm welcome and all the help you need to find your feet. Fun and friendship await you, go on, give us a try!
IT'S ONLY SINGING
But we love it!
We're a 3-part ladies choir - soprano, soprano 2 (or mezzo soprano) and alto - which makes for some beautiful, rich harmonies. We cover a diverse range of music, so there's something for everyone, and no time to get bored. Our current reportoire includes songs by Adele, Queen, Radiohead, Whitney Houston and Coldplay, and from Wicked and The Lion King. Rehearsals are high energy, supportive and full of fun. This choir is a mood-boosting, confidence-building machine!
Learning made easy
Kev and our accompanist Jane are quick to put everyone at ease. Each choir section is taken through their part line by line, at a comfortable pace before we bring all the sections together to get the full effect. When it hits, wow, it hits! And when it goes a little awry...we have a good giggle together! Making choir a fun experience is our first priority.

Fernwood Ladies Choir is committee-led. That way, decisions for the choir are made by choir members who sit on our committee and represent us all. We're all keen to see our choir grow and flourish, so if you join us, and have a brainwave or a suggestion, let the committee know!
The committee is re-elected by members each May but there are plenty of other opportunities to get involved with choir life, whether that's volunteering with event organising or promoting the choir. If you want to help, we'll let you know how!
